Voice & Singing Lessons in Huntington, NY

Voice & Singing Lessons for Ages 5–Adult

Our Huntington music studio serves families from Cold Spring Harbor, Greenlawn, Centerport, Northport, Woodbury, Syosset, and nearby Long Island communities.

A voice teacher who understands how personal singing is

Singing is one of the most vulnerable things a student can do. There’s nowhere to hide the way there is behind an instrument. Our director, Cristina Faicco-Hall, learned that the hard way: a college voice teacher’s “tough love” approach didn’t push her to improve, it just made her feel small. She built Heart & Soul to be the opposite of that experience.

That’s why, whether it’s a shy eight-year-old singing alone in a lesson for the first time or an adult who was told years ago they “weren’t musical,” every voice student here is met without judgment.

Voice Lessons by Age

Kids (Ages 5–12)

A safe, encouraging space to explore singing without embarrassment. Kids build pitch matching, rhythm, and healthy vocal habits early, at a pace that keeps things fun rather than stressful.

Teens (Ages 13–18)

Teen voice students are often preparing for something specific: a school musical audition, a NYSSMA solo, All-County/All-State chorus, or a college audition. They benefit from musical theater training and on-camera audition coaching.

Adults (18+)

Whether it’s getting back into singing after years away, finally being able to sing a lullaby without your voice cracking, or building confidence for karaoke or an open mic, adult voice students are never too old to start. We promise not to make anyone feel silly about it.

Music Explorers

Not quite ready for private voice lessons?

Ages 3–5 start with Music Explorers, our playful group class for rhythm, pitch, and pre-reading skills — the perfect first step before private lessons.

Why families and students choose our voice lessons

Teachers who are working performers, not just vocal coaches

Our director, Cristina Faicco-Hall, studied at the Ithaca College School of Music, performed on Broadway in Les Misérables, and still performs regularly at Feinstein's/54 Below. The rest of our voice team brings the same mix of stage experience and teaching credentials. Meet our full teaching team →

Healthy technique that protects developing voices

We use simple, imaginative language with younger singers instead of technical anatomy terms, choose age-appropriate songs and ranges, and adjust immediately if a student sounds like they're straining. Protecting the voice always comes first, never pushing for a bigger sound before it's safe to do so.

NYSSMA prep and audition coaching

Many of our students participate in NYSSMA vocal solos, and our teachers also help students prepare for school musicals, All-County/All-State auditions, and college auditions. Learn how NYSSMA vocal levels work →

Your Questions Answered

What age can my child start singing lessons?

Five years old is typically the earliest a child is ready for private lessons, though for many kids, seven or eight is a more natural starting point. Readiness matters more than age.

I (or my child) think I'm just not a good singer. Can lessons actually help?

Almost always, yes. Most "bad singers" simply never learned proper technique. That’s different from lacking the ability.

How much do voice lessons cost?

Pricing is available as flexible lesson packages or through our weekly Membership option. See current pricing at heartandsoulmusicacademy.com/lesson-packages/.

What is NYSSMA, and do you help prepare for it?

NYSSMA is New York's statewide music evaluation program. We help students prepare for vocal solos at every level, with a focus on preparation and confidence, not just chasing a score.

Are lessons private or group?

Private, one-on-one, except Music Explorers (ages 3–5), which is a group class.

How long are lessons, and are they in-person or virtual?

Lessons are 30 or 60 minutes, and we offer both in-person and virtual options.
