Piano Lessons in Huntington, NY

Piano Lessons for Ages 5–Adult

Our Huntington music studio serves families from Cold Spring Harbor, Greenlawn, Centerport, Northport, Woodbury, Syosset, and nearby Long Island communities.

A piano teacher who meets you where you are

Heart & Soul wasn’t built to be a conservatory. It was built because our director, Cristina Faicco-Hall, spent years with a teacher whose “tough love” approach did the opposite of what it promised. It made her feel small instead of confident. She started Heart & Soul to be the place she wished she’d had.

That belief shapes every piano lesson here, whether it’s a six-year-old sitting at a piano for the first time or an adult finally checking “learn piano” off a decades-old list. We meet every student exactly where they are.

Piano Lessons by Age

Kids (Ages 5–12)

Every lesson is built around one thing: helping your child feel safe, supported, and excited to learn. Kids build coordination, learn to read music, and work through the Faber Piano Adventures method at a pace that matches their development.

Teens (Ages 13–18)

Teen piano students are usually working toward something specific: a NYSSMA solo, a college audition, or just steady, independent progress. Lessons focus on advanced technique and measurable growth.

Adults (18+)

It’s never too late. Most adult piano students fall into a few camps: they used to play and want to get back into it, it’s been a bucket-list item for years, or they want to finally play the songs that got them interested in piano in the first place. No judgment, ever.

Music Explorers

Not quite ready for private piano lessons?

Ages 3–5 start with Music Explorers, our playful group class for rhythm, pitch, and pre-reading skills — the perfect first step before private lessons.

Why families and students choose our piano lessons

A curriculum that goes beyond the method book

We teach with the Faber Piano Adventures series, which builds technique, theory, creativity, and expression together instead of treating them as separate subjects. We also assign repertoire outside the series based on what a student loves and where they're headed, whether that's a movie theme, a pop song, or a piece for an upcoming NYSSMA level.

Teachers who are working musicians, not just instructors

Our teachers perform as well as teach. Our director studied Music Education and Vocal Performance at Ithaca College and performed on Broadway in the original production of Les Misérables. Meet our full teaching team →

Comprehensive NYSSMA prep

Many of our piano students participate in NYSSMA, and we've seen students earn strong scores at every level. But we also believe in choosing the right level at the right time. Pushing a student into a level before they're ready can undo the confidence lessons are supposed to build.

Consistent lessons and clear communication

Lessons start on time and stay on a predictable schedule, in a space that actually feels like a place to learn. Our admin team is always available for rescheduling or questions.

Student Spotlight performances, a virtual Holiday Playlist Showcase, and an in-person Showcase in June. These are low-pressure ways to build confidence and celebrate progress. Never required, only offered when a student is ready.

Flexible scheduling

Choose weekly Membership lessons at the same time each week for a guaranteed slot, or go with the Flexible Student option and schedule lesson packages as your availability allows. We also offer in-person and virtual lessons, 30- or 60-minute lesson lengths, and no semester-long commitments.

Your Questions Answered

What age should my child start piano lessons?

Most children are ready around age 5 or 6, though readiness (attention span, fine motor control, genuine interest) matters more than a specific birthday.

How much do piano lessons cost?

Pricing is available as flexible lesson packages or through our weekly Membership option. See current pricing at heartandsoulmusicacademy.com/lesson-packages/.

Are lessons private or group, and how long are they?

Private, one-on-one, except Music Explorers (ages 3–5), which is a group class. Lessons are 30 or 60 minutes, and we offer both in-person and virtual options.

Do you teach adult beginners?

Yes. Many of our adult piano students have never touched a piano before their first lesson with us.

What method or curriculum do you use?

The Faber Piano Adventures series, which builds technique, theory, creativity, and expression together.

Do you help students prepare for NYSSMA?

Yes. Our teachers work with students at every NYSSMA level, with a focus on preparation and confidence, not just chasing a score.
